Welcome to Elkins School of Art. It is with deep gratitude and joy that I introduce a school founded on faith, creativity, and vision. Our mission is to raise artists and architects whose work reflects beauty with purpose—uniting heart, mind, and craft in the service of God and humanity.
At Elkins, we believe that art and architecture are not merely disciplines to study, but languages through which truth and grace are expressed. We strive to cultivate individuals who think deeply, design meaningfully, and live faithfully—those who can shape culture with integrity and imagination.
Though we are in the early stages of development, we are building a foundation that values both spiritual formation and academic excellence. Each step forward is taken with prayer, dedication, and the hope that Elkins will become a place where creativity and calling meet.
Thank you for visiting Elkins School of Art. Whether you are exploring study opportunities, seeking partnership, or simply sharing in our vision, we welcome you to join this journey. May every experience here awaken your imagination and deepen your devotion to the Creator who inspires all creation.
With gratitude and blessings
The mission of Elkins School of Art serves as a foundational guide for the Board of Directors, faculty, staff, and students in shaping the school’s culture, strategic planning, program development, and creative direction. It is the result of a thoughtful and collaborative process involving the school’s founders, key administrators, faculty, and advisors who share a deep commitment to the school’s vision and values.
Elkins School of Art is dedicated to cultivating artists and architects who integrate faith, creativity, and excellence. Rooted in a Christian worldview, we aim to nurture individuals who reflect the character of Christ through their artistic and architectural practice. The school provides a learning environment that develops both technical mastery and spiritual depth—equipping students to serve churches, communities, and mission fields around the world.
Our mission is to raise a generation of visionary creators who, through art and architecture, glorify God, embody truth and beauty, and advance His Kingdom by using their gifts with integrity, compassion, and purpose.
Our vision is rooted in God’s promise to reveal His beauty, grace, and truth through the works of His people. Elkins School of Art envisions a world where art and architecture become instruments of renewal—restoring broken communities, strengthening the Church, and inspiring faith and hope in every generation.
Guided by the values of Christlikeness, creativity, and excellence, we seek to raise artists and architects who embody both vision and virtue—individuals who will illuminate God’s glory through their craft and transform the world by designing with love, purpose, and faith.
Elkins School of Art fulfills its mission through an integrated program that unites Biblical foundation, creative exploration, and professional excellence. Our approach combines rigorous academic study with hands-on practice in art and architecture, cultivating a Christ-centered environment where faith and creativity meet.
Students participate in real-world design and art projects that support churches, mission centers, and communities across the globe—expressing the Gospel through beauty, form, and purpose.
The mission is advanced through five core principles:
1. Faith Integration – Rooting all creative and academic endeavors in Biblical truth, fostering a personal and living relationship with Christ.
2. Excellence in Design – Pursuing innovation, craftsmanship, and mastery in art and architecture to shape meaningful and enduring works.
3. Service and Outreach – Preparing students to serve and uplift communities, using their creative gifts to inspire and empower others.
4. Cultural Relevance – Engaging with the world’s evolving challenges while remaining anchored in eternal Christian values.
5. Collaboration and Stewardship – Building partnerships and cultivating responsible leadership to advance God’s Kingdom through art and design.
In 2020, amid the global disruption of the pandemic, a quiet yet enduring vision began to take shape—a call to build a school that would nurture Christian artists and architects who could serve wherever they are. While much of the world came to a halt, the Lord was preparing a new foundation for creative education grounded in faith. From this vision, Elkins School of Art was born—an institution dedicated to cultivating art and architecture rooted in Christian values and creative excellence.
This vision was not conceived overnight. It is the fruit of decades of prayer, dedication, and sacrifice by Christian designers, educators, and builders who devoted their lives to glorifying God through creativity. Shaped by the story of the cross, they invested 25 to 35 years in establishing a foundation upon which a new generation of faithful creators could rise—artists and architects grounded in Scripture, integrity, and service.
In response to this calling, Elkins School of Art was officially incorporated as an independent educational institution. The school continues to develop its academic structure, creative curriculum, and institutional framework in preparation for state authorization and accreditation as a Christian art and design school.
While Elkins School of Art does not yet confer degrees, its mission is clear—to deliver education that integrates faith, design excellence, and real-world practice. Every program is crafted to empower students to express the Gospel through creative disciplines, shaping culture with beauty, meaning, and purpose. Through its focus on architecture, fine arts, and design, the school seeks to form visionaries who will illuminate God’s glory through their craft and contribute to communities of faith around the world.
Guided by God’s providence and the steadfast commitment of its founders and supporters, Elkins School of Art continues to grow as a light in the field of Christian creative education—raising a generation of artists and architects who design with love, build with faith, and create for His glory.
“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” – Psalm 127:1
May every studio, every project, and every future graduate of Elkins School of Art reflect the beauty of God’s truth through creative excellence.
